Privacy Policy

TypeSetu ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at typesetu.com and the browser-based Hindi font conversion tools it hosts. This policy describes what data we collect, how we handle it, and what we don't do with it. In short: your converted text stays on your device.

The core promise

Every font conversion tool on TypeSetu runs entirely inside your browser. The text you paste into any converter — KrutiDev, Chanakya, Preeti, Unicode, Mangal — is processed by JavaScript running on your own device. It is never sent to our servers, never logged, and never stored by us. We literally cannot read it, because it never reaches us.

If a converter tool ever tries to upload your text to a server, that's a bug — please report it via the contact page and we'll fix it.

What is stored on your own device

The converter tools save a small amount of data to your browser's localStorage — a per-domain storage area that lives on your device and is never sent to us. Specifically:

• Your last conversions, shown in the "Recent" panel on each tool. Up to 20 recent items per tool, kept for 30 days, then automatically removed. Only the converted output text is stored — not the original input.
• Your theme preference — whether you chose light mode or dark mode. A single string value.

You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's site data for typesetu.com, or by clicking the "Clear" button next to the Recent panel on any converter page. We never see or receive any of it.

What we collect on the server side

The website itself is hosted on Hostinger and served over HTTPS. Standard web server logs are generated for every request, containing:

• Your IP address (used to serve the response, then retained in access logs by the hosting provider).
• The URL you requested, HTTP status, referrer, and user-agent string.
• Timestamp of the request.

These logs are standard for any website and are used only for security, uptime monitoring, and diagnosing errors. Retention follows Hostinger's default log-rotation policy. We do not use these logs to identify individual users or track behaviour across the site.

Cookies

TypeSetu's own site does not set tracking cookies. We use localStorage (described above) for your Recent conversions and theme preference — technically not cookies, but functionally similar. Neither is sent to any server.

If we add third-party services in the future (analytics, advertising) that use cookies, this policy will be updated and a cookie banner will appear before those cookies are set.

Analytics

At this time TypeSetu does not run any analytics tools — no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no server-side event pipeline. We don't know how many visitors the site gets or which pages are popular except by looking at aggregated server logs. If we add analytics in the future we'll prefer a privacy-first option (like Plausible or Fathom) that doesn't set cookies or track individuals, and this policy will be updated first.

Advertising

The site reserves ad slots in fixed locations (labelled "Advertisement" on the page). At the time this policy is written, no ad network is active — the slots are empty placeholders. When we do add an ad network, we'll pick one that operates without cookies where possible, or update this policy and add a consent flow where cookie-based advertising applies.

Third-party assets

TypeSetu serves every asset — HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, web fonts, and the downloadable .ttf font files — directly from our own domain. Your browser does not fetch anything from Google Fonts, a CDN, or any third-party host while loading the site.

Downloadable font files

Font downloads (KrutiDev, Chanakya, Preeti .ttf files) are served as static files from our server. Downloading a file does not identify you beyond the standard web server log described above — we don't require signup, we don't watermark the files, and we don't wrap them in a download manager.

Your rights

Because we don't collect personal data through the conversion tools, there is generally nothing about you specifically to access, correct, or delete on our systems. For the server logs described above, you can request a deletion by writing to us via the contact page; the request will be honoured within the timeframe Hostinger's log rotation allows.

If you're in a jurisdiction with data-protection law (India's DPDPA, EU GDPR, California CCPA, etc), the "we don't collect it" architecture means most rights (data portability, correction, restriction) simply don't apply to us because there's no data to act on.

Children's privacy

TypeSetu is a general-purpose utility. It does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Because we don't collect information from users at all through the tools, no age-based data restrictions apply. Parents concerned about children using the site can browse the tools alongside them without any signup or data-entry step.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change what we collect or how we handle data (for example, adding analytics or advertising with cookies), we'll update this page, change the "Effective" date at the top, and — for changes with real user impact — surface a notice on the site so returning visitors don't miss it.
